Effective 2017, from the American Medical Association:
NEW STANDARD OF CARE CRITERIA FOR INSURANCE COMPANIES IS 45 MINUTE SESSIONS, NOT 60 MINUTE SESSIONS. Sessions 60 minutes or longer are now considered "extended" and will require further clinical evaluation and approval, based on client's functioning and severity of symptoms.
Couples/Family Psychotherapy will now be scheduled for 30-50 minutes instead of 60 minutes. Extended sessions (60, 90, 120 minutes) likely will not be covered under insurance plans, or will require special authorization; clients are allowed to pay out of pocket for additional time requested. Note, also, that your health insurance benefits may not include couples or family therapy (this is common practice with insurance companies).

Services may be covered in part or in full by your insurance provider, depending on your plan. You may have both in and out of network benefits, as well. Having out of network benefits means that you have a plan that affords you the freedom to choose the provider of your choice, and are not restricted to only those the insurance company has selected to contract.

The full cost for a 60 minute psychotherapy session is $135 with a licensed therapist, $90 with a provisionally licensed therapist, and $65 with a graduate student intern. All therapists are at the graduate, master level.
Reduced Rates: Agape Therapy Institute offers financial assistance to qualifying individuals, based on income level. Reduced rates start at $25 per session, depending on income, length of session and qualifications of clinician. To apply, you must submit a copy of your most recent pay stub, bank statement, SSD check, unemployment check, or other demonstration of income to contact@agapementalhealth.org.
Group rates vary depending on the nature, length, size and provider of the group, but cost ranges from $10 per group to $45 per group. This can help reduce the cost of care for those who are unable to afford one-on-one individual care, and are under- or uninsured, and group therapy has some unique benefits that individual therapy does not. Financial assistance is also available for group costs. Please call or email us to inquire.
Financial assistance is available for those who demonstrate financial hardship. To qualify for a reduced fee for service, please send an email to contact@agapementalhealth.org with a copy of your most recent bank statement, demonstrating your income or a copy of your most recent pay stub. We are an out of network behavioral healthcare provider with Orange County Public Schools (OCPS), but out of network benefits are available to all OCPS employees. The county provides for a $30 assistance toward the cost of your service.
If you are an Active Service Duty Member (ASDM) with TRICARE, note that you must receive a referral from your doctor first, before being able to book an appointment with a mental health provider. Typically, TRICARE beneficiaries (non-ADSM) are eligible for 8 mental health counseling visits without authorization, and thereafter require authorization for continued care.
Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you can’t make your appointment. If you miss your appointment and fail to notify us with at least 24 hours notice, you will automatically be charged a late cancellation fee of $50. If you fail to show for your appointment, you will be charged the full cost of a therapy session, $135.00.
